What Adults Can and Cannot Do on Inflatables
To keep everyone safe and to avoid confusion during events, it’s important to be clear about what adults can and cannot do on inflatables. Most inflatables are designed for children only, and using them outside their intended limits can lead to safety issues and damage. This page explains how adult use works and what to expect when planning a mixed-age event.
Most inflatables are for children only
The majority of our inflatables, including bouncy castles, slides and obstacle courses, are designed for children and young people. These units have specific height and weight limits and are not suitable for adult use.
This applies to items from our Bouncy Castles, Bouncy Castles with Slides, Obstacle Courses and themed inflatable ranges. Adults should not enter these inflatables, even to assist children, as this can create safety risks.
Inflatables that adults can use
We currently offer two inflatables that are suitable for adult use. These are designed specifically for mixed-age participation and are commonly used at community events, workplace activities and charity fun days.
Foot Darts Kick n Stick
Penalty Shootout
These football inflatables allow adults to take part safely alongside children and teenagers. They are straightforward to use, easy to supervise, and work well where a wide age range is attending.
Why adult restrictions matter
Inflatables are manufactured with clear limits in mind. When adults use equipment that is not designed for them, it increases the risk of injury and can cause unnecessary wear or damage. These restrictions help ensure fair use, longer equipment life and a safer environment for children.
Supervision and safe behaviour
Even on inflatables that adults can use, sensible behaviour is essential. No rough play, climbing on walls, or overcrowding should take place. Adult supervision is required at all times when children are using inflatables.
For larger events, schools and public fun days, we recommend adding support from our Staff Supervisors. Supervisors help manage queues, explain rules clearly and prevent unsafe use.
Planning a mixed-age event
If your event includes adults, children and toddlers, it’s best to plan a mix of equipment. Children’s inflatables and soft play can be set up separately from football inflatables that adults can safely use. This keeps activities organised and avoids misunderstandings on the day.
If you’re unsure which equipment is suitable for your event, or you want help planning a safe layout, we’re happy to advise.
